===== Unix2Web =====

An open source web server having a **VERY** specific language for very specific purposes. 
Although some *normal* features are included as well.

Here you find an overview of the functionality and programming usage of this web server.


==== Overview ====

The Unix2Web web server allows the creation of simple web applications 
by offering these features:

  * show static HTML pages
  * use tables and forms
  * present output of Unix commands as web page
  * divide the browser window into frames top, left, right
  * navigation through a menue in the left frame
  * use a direct communication to a MySQL database

See how it is used in the [[uls:|Universal Logging System (ULS)]] project.

The web server is available for different Linux and Unix brands, 
it is even possible to run it on W*ndows if you use the 
[[http://www.cygwin.com/|Cygwin tools]].

The complete Unix2Web package is wrapped in the u2webtools rpm for SuSE.
