The Universal Logging System (ULS) is an open source solution for storing, logging, analysing, reporting and monitoring of nearly arbitrary numeric values, text expressions and large objects like files or images.

• timestamp related values (numeric, text, file) can be stored in hierarchical data structures
• users can navigate and inspect this data as tables or diagrams by using a web browser
• displayed results can be used to create reproduceable reports
• thresholds can be defined, notifications are sent if violated
• values can be aggregated by numerous functions to hourly, daily, weekly or monthly figures for baseline monitoring and long term analysis
